Pokkén - Dark Mewtwo

Players of Pokkén Tournament in Japan have discovered a special extra battle. This battle i is unlocked by having three matches and losing in two of them, and is against a Dark Mewtwo which Mega Evolves into Mega Mewtwo X. It's currently unclear if this character, or Mewtwo as standard, will be a playable character in the arcade game or the Wii U version at a later point. We'll bring more news as it comes

Collectible Badge Center

The free piece of Japan-only Nintendo 3DS software, Collectible Badge Center, had its weekly update today and this week it introduced six panels of badges of Pokémon to earn. These panels include various more new Pokémon to the ones previously obtainable. We're currently cataloguing all of these badges and will update our special Collectible Badge Center section shortly.

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire - US Hoopa

Following the accidental reveal on the official site yesterday, the Hoopa event has been reconfirmed for the US. Running at McDonald's restaurants from November 27th to December 23rd, it is now confirmed that Hoopa is distributed through the McDonald's Nintendo Zone meaning you'll need to take your 3DS and a copy of Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire with you.

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire - Shiny Tyranitar Event

A new event has been announced for Japan. From November 7th to December 6th, if you go to Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores across Japan, you'll be able to receive a special shiny Tyranitar on your Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire games. This Tyranitar is based on the Tyranitar that Kotone Yasue used to become the Junior Division Pokémon World Champion earlier this year

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire - Shiny Xerneas

For those of you who have the Japanese Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire games, the next event has begun. This event offers a Shiny Xerneas, which has been unavailable up until now, and coincides with the beginning of the Pokémon XY & Z anime in Japan. This distribution is obtained via a shared Serial Code which was given with today's anime episode. The code is MOKUYO7JI and is usable once per game within the Mystery Gift "Receive via Code" option. It will be redeemable until January 12th 2016. It is to be followed by a Shiny Yveltal next week and a Zygarde on November 12th

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire - US Hoopa

For those of you in the US, the Hoopa event has been announced. Hoopa is to be distributed at McDonald's restaurants across the country from November 27th 2015 to December 23rd 2015. This event can be redeemed on X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire but it is not currently 100% confirmed if it will be code or through the Nintendo Zone or local distribution methods. This follows on from the events in Europe currently running in Germany, the UK and Italy, as well as in France in Micromania Stores from November 2nd.

A few brand new challenges have begun on Pokémon Shuffle. First, to celebrate 4 million downloads of Pokémon Shuffle Mobile, the Celebi stage has been released on both Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon Shuffle Mobile. It runs until 06:00 UTC on November 9th 2015.
Next, the Lugia "High Speed Challenge" stage has also returned for both Pokémon Shuffle and its first run on Pokémon Shuffle Mobile. It runs until 06:00 UTC on November 9th 2015.
Finally, the Ho-Oh stage has finally appeared on both Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon Shuffle Mobile. It runs until 06:00 UTC on November 9th 2015.

Today, we are covering a Pokémon introduced in the first generation.Sometimes, on a dark night, your shadow thrown by a streetlight will suddenly and startlingly overtake you. It is actually a Gengar running past you, pretending to be your shadow. Hiding in people's shadows at night, it absorbs their heat. The chill it causes makes the victims shake. It is said that if Gengar is hiding, it cools the area by nearly 10 degrees Fahrenheit. So, here it is, the one-hundred & fourth entry, Gengar.

For those of you in the United Kingdom, the Hoopa event has begun. If you go to GAME stores between today and November 5th, you will receive a code for Hoopa. This code can be redeemed in X, Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire and needs to be redeemed by January 10th. More European events for Hoopa are to come and the North American one is set to be revealed soon.

Some new events have been announced for Japan. If you go to the special Pokémon Expo Gym Event in Japan, you'll be able to receive Serial Codes of various Pokémon that are used in the Expo Gym's attractions. Specifically the Charizard used in the Battle Colosseum Area, the Machamp from the Aid Center, the Smeargle from the Promo Studio and the Zoroark from the Dark Dojo. No further details about the Pokémon have been given yet. Pokémon Expo Gym opens in Osaka, Japan on November 19th 2015 and the codes can be redeemed in Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire
There will also be a special Pokémon Expo Gym Gear app available from November 1st for use at this event. It has a variety of features including tracking your progress through the Expo Gym as well as using the device's camera for augmented reality functions. It can be loaded onto any device that runs iOS version 7.0 or later, or Android 4.0 or later

For those of you in France, it has been announced that the Shiny Rayquaza event will finally be distributed. The Pokémon Company International has just announced that a large update is to come to the PC and iPad app. This update is said to include improved graphics, functionality, new music and more. This update will also include all the new cards coming with the upcoming TCG set BREAKThrough including the BREAK Evolution mechanic. The date of this update has yet to be announced but we'll post when it happens

Famitsu DS+Wii has revealed another pair of new episode titles, this time for the third & fourth episodes of Pokémon XY & Z. These episodes are set to air in Japan on November 12th and November 19th respectively. The first features the group finding a Nurse Joy trapped behind a rock and them unable to enter the local Pokémon Center while the second episode features the story of a Litleo leaving its pride, but finding a mysterious shadow fixated on it

The Pokémon Company International and Build-A-Bear Workshop have revealed that from early 2016 you'll be able to make a Pikachu at Build-A-Bear stores across the US, Europe, Canada and Australia. If you do this, you'll get a special promo TCG card as a gift and you can decorate it with a Poké Ball Hoodie and have a Pikachu sound chip. If you order it online, you'll also be able to get a Charizard costume.

A few brand new challenges have begun on Pokémon Shuffle. First, the Mega Banette competition has begun its second run on the 3DS versio. The top 65,000 in Japan, 16,000 in Europe and 23,000 in the US get a Banettite. The top 5,000 in Japan, 1,000 in Europe and the top 1,500 in US also get a Mega Speedup and the top 80,000 in Japan, 19,000 in Europe and the top 28,000 in the US get an Attack Power. All other players get a Disruption Delay
The Giratina Escalation Battle stage has made a return appearance. It runs until November 2nd 2015 and has similar rewards as before. Level 5 gives 1000 coins, Level 10 a Disruption Delay, Level 30 a Mega Start, Level 50 a Mega Speedup, Level 60 2000 Coins, Level 75 2000 Coins, Level 85 2000 Coins and Level 100 a Mega Speedup.
On Pokémon Shuffle Mobile, the Cresselia Escalation Battle stage and the Regirock stages have begun. Both run until November 2nd 2015.
All of these require the version 1.2.21 to download. Our Pokémon listings have been updated with this Pokémon

For those of you in Germany, the Hoopa event has begun. If you go to Gamestop stores between today and November 7th, you will receive a code for Hoopa. This code can be redeemed in X, Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire and needs to be redeemed by January 10th. In addition to this, it has been posted on the official Gamestop site that Gamestop stores in Austria and Switzerland will also be running the event from today

Collectible Badge Center

The free piece of Japan-only Nintendo 3DS software, Collectible Badge Center, had its weekly update today and this week it introduced even more new panels of badges of Pokémon to earn. These panels include various more new Pokémon to the ones previously obtainable as well as a special set for Pikachu based on Halloween. We're currently cataloguing all of these badges and will update our special Collectible Badge Center section shortly.

Pokémon - Alternation Battle

A new Battle Competition has been announced. This is the Alternation Battle competition. This competition is another Double Battle competition and runs rules similar to the VGC rules but with the following exceptions. The top used Pokémon in recent Double Battle Battle Competitions cannot be used so the following Pokémon are not eligible: Venusaur, Charizard, Pikachu, Gengar, Kangaskhan, Jolteon, Lanturn, Ampharos, Suicune, Tyranitar, Ludicolo, Gardevoir, Mawile, Manectric, Salamence, Luxray, Garchomp, Electivire, Rotom, Heatran, Cresselia, Emolga, Amoonguss, Galvantula, Eelektross, Stunfisk, Bisharp, Hydreigon, Terrakion, Thundurus, Landorus, Greninja, Talonflame, Aegislash, Heliolisk and Sylveon. Registration runs from November 5th to November 12th while battles run from November 13th to November 15th All players receive 1000 PokéMiles

Ahead of its launch tomorrow in Japan, some further details have come out about the Pokkén Tournament Halloween event, specifically the details as to what the support Pokémon, Mismagius and Ninetales. Mismagius uses the Ominous Wind move which hits for damage and increases attack power while Ninetales uses Will-O-Wisp which sends out a small flame in front of your playable Pokémon. The first clear image of the Haunted Mansion stage's new look for the event has also been released. This event runs until November 3rd

Following the QR Code posting of the CoroCoro Pass dungeon in CoroCoro, we now have the various passwords for the Japanese version of the game that unlock the various gifts. The next images from CoroCoro have come and have revealed more details about the special CoroCoro Pass dungeon. This dungeon is exclusive to CoroCoro and is obtained via a password or QR Code in this month's issue and is a 20 floor dungeon which has a boss fight against Garchomp at the end. The magazine also comes with codes for the TMs Smack Down and Waterfall. The unique passwords have not been posted but a QR Code for the dungeon has been shared.

A few brand new challenges have begun on Pokémon Shuffle. First, a new challenge is available on Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon Shuffle Mobile which gives the Pokémon Dusknoir. It is available until October 26th 2015.
Next, there is a new Pokémon Safari running on both Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon Shuffle Mobile. It contains the Pokémon Duskull, Dusclops, Pumpkaboo, Gourgeist, Zubat, Golbat & Crobat. It is available until October 26th 2015.
Finally, the next batch of stages has been made available on Pokémon Shuffle Mobile

The first images from CoroCoro have leaked and have revealed some details about distributions to coincide with Pokémon XY & Z. These distributions will run weekly and will be obtained by a serial code obtained during the Pokémon XY & Z anime. On October 29th, a shiny Xerneas will be obtainable. It is Level 100 with the moves Geomancy, Moonblast, Aromatherapy and Focus Blast. On November 5th, a code for a shiny Yveltal will be distributed with the moves Oblivion Wing, Sucker Punch, Dark Pulse and Foul Play and on November 12th, a code for a Zygarde will be distributed with the moves Land's Wrath, Extreme Speed, Glare & Outrage. We'll bring more as it comes

For those of you in the Europe, the Hoopa distribution has been announced. This distribution will run in GAME stores in the UK from October 23rd to November 5th, Gamestop stores in Germany from October 16th 2015 to November 7th 2015. French and Spanish dates are forth coming, as are North American dates. It is obtained via Serial Code and be available to all X, Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire games. Our Event Database has been updated with details of this event.
Edit @ 13:26: Following the reveal of a mysterious event on Wednesday, it has now been confirmed by Nintendo Benelux that Hoopa is to be distributed at the First Look Festival in the Netherlands this weekend on October 10th and 11th.
Edit @ 15:10: A US press release has confirmed that Hoopa will be distributed in North America later this year

It has been announced that two of the smartphone apps, specifically Pokédex for iOS, which was released in 2012, and Learn Real English With Pokemon: Bilingual XY Scope, which was released earlier this year, are to be no longer available on the smartphone platforms from November 30th 2015. While the apps will still be able to be used, you'll not be able to purchase the additional content from them anymore, nor will you be able to download them if you haven't downloaded them yet.

Pokkén Tournament - Halloween Event

A new event is to run for Pokkén Tournament machines from October 15th 2015 to November 3rd 2015 with the update for it going out today. The first and most noteworthy part is that if you log into the Pokkén Tournament network on a machine using your BANA Passport during the event, you will unlock a new Support Pokémon set. This set features the Pokémon Mismagius and Ninetales. Secondly, various Halloween themed outfits will be released for use in the game. Finally, the Haunted House stage will be altered in looks to go with the Halloween motif during the event such as the inclusion of pumpkins around the stage. It's currently unclear if these features will hit the Wii U version upon its release next year. In addition to this, various balance patches have been instituted.

A new event has been announced for Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire in the Netherlands. This event runs at the Firstlook Festival in Jaarbeurs, Utrecht this weekend, October 10th and 11th and will give you a special code to receive a Pokémon into your games. The Pokémon being distributed is not currently known but we'll bring full details as and when they come.

The Newtype magazine has revealed another new episode title for the second episode of Pokémon XY & Z. In this episode, Ash & Co. continue to travel to Snowbelle City, with their new friend Squishy (Zygarde Core), when a wild Quilladin appears. It is due to air on November 5th 2015

A few brand new challenges have begun on Pokémon Shuffle. First, a Mega Absol competition has begun for Nintendo 3DS owners. Between now and October 12th you can compete in the competition where the top 50,000 in Japan, 20,000 in America or 12,000 in Europe get Absolite, the top 10,000 in Japan, 3,800 in America or 2,400 in Europe also get a Mega Speedup and the top 70,000 in Japan, 27,000 in North America or 17,000 in Europe get 2 Attack Power. Everyone else gets a jewel
In both the 3DS and Mobile versions, the Dialga stage has made a return. It runs until October 19th on Shuffle Mobile and October 12th on the 3DS version.
Finally, in both the 3DS and Mobile versions, the Palkia stage is having its first run. It also runs until October 19th.
All of these require the version 1.2.19 to download. Our Pokémon listings have been updated with this Pokémon

Pokémon Rumble World

It has been announced that Pokémon Rumble World is to get a retail presence in Japan on November 19th 2015. It will cost 3,700¥. It will give a copy of the game as well as the ability to receive all 3,000 PokéDiamonds you can normally purchase in the game right after you finish the tutorial, giving access to the PokéDiamond Digger straight away, as well as the various discounts. As you get all 3000 PokéDiamonds straight away, there are no microtransactions that can be made in the retail version, and you will not be able to transfer saves between the download version and the retail release. It is not currently clear if a retail release of the game will come outside of Japan

Pokémon - Pumpkaboo

A new event has been announced for Japan. This event will give a Super Size Pumpkaboo to Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire games. It will be available in all Pokémon Center and Pokémon Stores across Japan from October 11th through to November 1st. Full details of this event are not currently known.
