![]() Heat Rotom, The Plasma Pokémon. Its electric-like body can enter some kinds of machines and take control in order to make mischief. Research continues on this Pokémon, which could be the power source of a unique motor. Its body is composed of plasma. It is known to infiltrate electronic devices and wreak havoc. Overview Arguably the best Rotom form available and easily the best during 4th gen, Rotom-H brings Overheat to the table. You know, being an oven, it sort of makes sense. Anyway, Rotom-H has a load of useful resistances, but comes with a 4x weakness to Ground. This really makes it ineff- huh? It gets Levitate? It loses its 4x weakness? Well, shut my mouth! Yep, Rotom-H is pretty awesome. Doesn't have a cool grin like Rotom-C, but it makes up for that by being much better. Abilities Levitate: Rotom-H loses a huge weakness thanks to this ability. Seriously, it'd be way less useful if it had something else. Gas Mark 9 - Overheat Overheat gets STAB and hits crazy hard. Thunderbolt is your reliable strong move. Hidden Power [Ice] allows you to revenge kill Dragons. Hidden Power [Grass] is for Swampert and Quagsire. Hidden Power [Fighting] ruins Tyranitar, and Hidden Power [Ground] kills Heatran. Trick messes up plenty of Pokémon, and Volt Switch is for scouting. Dual Screens - Reflect Reflect doubles you and your team's Defence, and Light Screen doubles Special Defence. Overheat is awesome; strong, pretty accurate, and has a cool name. Volt Switch gets you out of trouble and removes the -2 Special Attack from Overheat. Thunderbolt is a little stronger than Volt Switch, which is handy. Pain Split keeps your health up, allowing for more screen abuse. SubOven - Substitute Substitute keeps you safe from harm and from status. Thunderbolt gets nice damage. Discharge is a little weaker but gets a good chance of hitting paralysis. Volt Switch deals damage and gets you out of the battle. Overheat hits hard and is always worth using. Pain Split works for recovery. Will-O-Wisp burns and cripples. Hidden Power [Grass] beats Swampert, Hidden Power [Fighting] smashes Tyranitar, Hidden Power [Ice] breaks down Dragons and Gliscor, and Hidden Power [Ground] murders Heatran. The easy bake, easy sleep, easy talk oven - Will-O-Wisp / Overheat Standard ResTalk set. Will-O-Wisp cripples and Overheat deals a tonne of damage. Discharge has a good chance of paralysing the opponent, which is why you want it over Thunderbolt. Rest keeps your health up, and Sleep Talk stops you being dead weight whilst you nap. Heavy duty oven - Will-O-Wisp Will-O-Wisp burns and cripples physical sweepers. Pain Split keeps you healthy as it works like recovery 99% of the time with Rotom's awful HP. Discharge can paralyse and is only a little weaker than Thunderbolt. You don't want to be using this in an offensive manner, so the paralysis will be more helpful than the 10 base power. Overheat destroys. EVs & Natures Gas Mark 9 Dual Screens SubOven The easy bake, easy sleep, easy talk oven Heavy duty oven Other Options White Herb, Charge, Charge Beam, Electro Ball, Shadow Ball, Signal Beam, Sunny Day, Toxic, Thunder, Thunder Wave Double & Triple Battle Options Same deal as Rotom-C, but a little worse. Being weak to Surf and Rock Slide really messes with Rotom-H in doubles and triples. It can thankfully avoid Earthquake, but still... it can use weather a lot better than Rotom-C though, which is cool I guess. It has Discharge and the standard support options, so it isn't completely worthless. Partners Being weak to Stealth Rock, you need a Rapid Spinner. Forretress, Starmie, standard spinners are fine. Tyranitar does well at stopping Rotom-H's counters like the latis and stuff, although sandstorm would hurt you. Rotom-H does a great job at stopping Ferrothorn, so Pokémon that can abuse this are great team members. Pokémon that can work off of a well timed Trick are ideal too. Countering Heat Rotom Tyranitar, Chansey, Blissey, Latias, Latios, Lanturn, Swampert, Garchomp, Heatran, Mold Breaker, Gravity. Hello Rotom-H's main counters. All of these Pokémon take little damage from its main moves and can wall or OHKO it. Obviously they have to watch out for the coverage move; Hidden Power [Fighting], Shadow Ball, Hidden Power [Grass], Hidden Power [Ice], Hidden Power [Ground]. Also, Trick and Pain Split can be very bothersome, as can status. Basically, be careful around Rotom. It can be revenge killed fairly easily thanks to some common weaknesses like Water and Rock. Stealth Rock is a big thing for Rotom-H, as most of the time it will be Choiced, meaning you will constantly be taking damage from Stealth Rock. If Stealth Rock is on the field, Rotom-H won't be coming in too often. Rotom-H is pretty good. Generally seen as the second best forme, and initially being the best forme by far in 4th gen, its only competition really is from Rotom-W, who got majorly improved with 5th gen. However, Rotom-H has the most resistances out of all of the formes, and is arguably the best Choice Scarf user out of all of them. I like it. Not as cool as Mowtom though, I just can't get enough of that grin.
