Smeargle

Smeargle, The Painter Pokémon. A fluid oozes from it's Tail. It paints fluid everywhere with it to mark it's territory. When it's an adult, it allows it's comrades paint footprints on it's back. The colour for the fluid on it's tail is different for each Smeargle and pre-determined at birth. Over 5,000 different Smeargle marks have been found

Strategy Using Smeargle

Well, did you miss Sir Chris? Well I am back from computer problems to give you advice on Smeargle! Poor smeargle, such an underpowered yet useful pokemon in G/S/C, now nothing more than Ninjask's and the more speedy metagame's whipping boy. I never did like the pokemon too much to be honest, always annoyed me. Later on I found ways to easily pick it apart, and how to use it to my advantage. This set is old school G/S/C, harks back to the golden age for our beloved Smeargle. You trap, you sleep, you raise speed, you go to a sweeper and kick some tail, that is basically how it went in G/S/C, and how you want it to go in R/S. Sad to say things won't always go your way. While the game of G/S/C was about defense and team tactics, r/s is about speed and a sweeper mentality, neither of those does smeargle like to do, and is unable to do without much assistance. In the age of a baton passer who can actually attack and give out stat boosts, Smeargle has become saddenly second rate. Anything that is faster than it and plans on attacking it is going to give Smeargle a world of pain, and more times than not, death. This is just another case of a G/S/C great being crippled by the times.

Addition by Serebii: Alternatively, you could replace one of the attacks, probably Spore, with Perish Song or Destiny Bond and with Spider Web, they will be unable to escape and will faint. If Smeargle's gonna go down, you might aswell take up to 3 Pokémon with it

EV Corner:

Max out the EVs in Speed for Smeargle with any remaining in Special Defense & Defense

Strategy Against Smeargle

Smeargle isn't that fast, its defenses (and attacks for that matter) are horrible. So if you haven't figured it out yet, just outspeed it hit it with any sort of attack. Earthquake? Dead. Psychic? Dead. Meteor Mash? Dead 3 times over. The point is, if you aren't spored by smeargle then smeargle is a dead pokemon, period. Your attack stat would have to be more or less on pr with a chansey's to not do a horriffic amount of damage to it. Just attack, you can NOT lose, promise. Unless you use a ghost ove, that's bad.
