When you get back to New Bark Town you will find that someone has stolen a Pokémon from Elm's lab, you give the policeman a name and he will then say that he is going to start searching for him. Afterwards you can speak to Prof. Elm and show him the egg that Mr. Pokémon had given to you. He will be amazed and then will tell you that you can start on a Pokémon Journey to try and become a Master. Before you leave go to speak to your mother she will say that she could keep money for you if you wish. Afterwards go back to Route 30 where the 2 trainers were battling but they have stopped and allowed you to go through as long as you battle them yourself.
