The Survival Area is a small village in the north of the Battle Zone island in Sinnoh. This village is where trainers come to hone their skills. Your rival is battleable here and, in Platinum, there is the Battleground where all the Gym Leaders and significant trainers will come daily in order for you to rematch. The trainer Buck is also found in this area and will participate in the Magma Stone aspect of Stark Mountain.

Move Tutors
In Platinum, there is a house where a Move Tutor lives. This Move Tutor will teach a variety of moves in exchange for various shards found within the region.
