Like all previous Super Smash Bros. games, Super Smash Bros for 3DS & Wii U have a variety of stages to play on. These stages are all derived from games on Nintendo's home consoles. Many of these stages have got a special "Final Destination" mode

New Stages


Stage: Battlefield

Game Series: Super Smash Bros
Based upon: Super Smash Bros. Melee (2001)

This is a relatively simple stage with several platforms, but the background and lighting change with various times of day
Final Destination

Stage: Final Destination

Game Series: Super Smash Bros
Based upon: Super Smash Bros. Melee (2001)

This is a very simple stage with no platforms. It is simply a small platform with a changing background that goes through space. It's the main focus of the special online mode "For Glory"
Boxing Ring

Stage: Boxing Ring

Game Series: Punch-Out
Based upon: Punch-Out (2009)

This stage is a simple boxing ring for players to fight within. It has borders on the sides and a TV which follows the action in the background. In this stage, you have the ability to jump upon the ring's barrier and use it to propel yourself upwards. Sometimes it is decorated with the Super Smash Bros symbol, but other times it has the W.V.B.A. design.

Stage: Skyloft

Game Series: The Legend of Zelda
Based upon: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (2011)

This stage has you battle on various platforms as the village of Skyloft moves in the background. At many points in the level, the platforms go down and into Skyloft, and you fight within the confines of the town
Town & City

Stage: Town & City

Game Series: Animal Crossing
Based upon: Animal Crossing: City Folk (2008)

This stage is a simple stage set upon a floating platform flying over a standard Animal Crossing town. However, as the level progresses, a floating platform can go over the level. The background sometimes changes and goes over Main Street within a city
Dr. Wily's Lair

Stage: Dr. Wily's Lair

Game Series: MegaMan
Based upon: MegaMan 2 (1988)

This stage is a simple stage set upon a standard stage, with several floating platforms around the side. Occasionally, the Yellow Devil will come into the stage, and will move across it in pieces

Stage: Pyrosphere

Game Series: Metroid
Based upon: Metroid: Other M (2010)

This stage is a simple stage set upon a standard stage, with several floating platforms at the top. This stage has various lava bursts coming off at the side and is said to have a familiar character within it. It will occasionally have Ridley fly around the stage.
Pilot Wings

Stage: Pilot Wings

Game Series: Pilotwings
Based upon: Pilotwings (1990) & Pilotwings Resort (2011)

This stage is a new stage that has you battle on top of various planes as they fly between and through the various islands of Pilotwings: the original island and Wuhu Island with various obstacles, including other planes, getting in the way
Wii Fit Studio

Stage: Wii Fit Studio

Game Series: Wii Series
Based upon: Wii Fit (2008)

This stage is a simple stage that has you battling with a mirror reflection of your characters in the background. There are occasionally Wii Balance Boards around the stage acting as a platform, while other times it lacks anything but features yoga patterns on the back
Garden of Hope

Stage: Garden of Hope

Game Series: Pikmin
Based upon: Pikmin 3 (2013)

This stage is a varied stage that features several different aspects. Set in a forest, there are various backgrounds and has you battle on these locales and on various platforms that alter position based upon the weight on eachother
Windy Hill

Stage: Windy Hill

Game Series: Sonic the Hedgehog
Based upon: Sonic Lost World(2013)

This stage is one that appears to be an elongated platform level, with numerous platforms to jump upon. This level is slightly curved with am oving platform on the right and large springs to give you a boost.
Mario Galaxy

Stage: Mario Galaxy

Game Series: Super Mario
Based upon: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (2010)

This stage is unique in that it runs across a sphered surface. As such, the way you jump and move along the stage is altered due to the gravity.
Palutena's Temple

Stage: Palutena's Temple

Game Series: Kid Icarus
Based upon: Kid Icarus Uprising (2012)

This stage is based upon a sky temple from the Kid Icarus series. This stage is a very large with several parts. On the bottom left is an internal temple with springboards and obstacles. On top there are various breakable bridges and platforms
Kalos Pokémon League

Stage: Kalos Pokémon League

Game Series: Pokémon
Based upon: Pokémon X & Y (2013)

This stage is based upon the Pokémon League found in Pokémon X & Y. It is based on a platform that goes through the rooms of the Kalos Elite Four members
Mushroom Kingdom U

Stage: Mushroom Kingdom U

Game Series: Mario
Based upon: New Super Mario Bros. U (2012)

This stage is based upon New Super Mario Bros. U. It starts off with a standard stage with several platforms and other platforms that contract and exp[and. However, at some point during the stage, Kamek comes in and changes the locale to another New Super Mario Bros. U stage with water jets and urchins that can damage
Pac Land

Stage: Pac Land

Game Series: Pac-man
Based upon: Pac Land (1984)

This stage is based upon the arcade & NES game, Pac-Land. This stage matches the aesthetics of the original and has the fight move across various towns until it hits the queen at the end. The true mechanics of this stage aren't yet known

Stage: Coliseum

Game Series: Fire Emblem
Based upon:

This stage is based upon the Coliseum from the Fire Emblem series. In this stage, various platforms shall move around the stage, giving you various footholds.
Great Fox

Stage: Great Fox

Game Series: Starfox
Based upon: Starfox Assault (2005)

This stage is another classic Starfox stage and has you play on top of the Great Fox once again. Full details of this stage are unknown

Returning Stages


Stage: Halberd

Game Series: Kirby
Based upon: Kirby Super Star (1996)

This stage makes its return from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. For the majority of the level, you are on a platform that will land at various points. You start off on the ground as the Halberd takes off and a platform comes from under you. This platform is the fighting point for much of the match. You'll occasionally land on the Halberd where you may be under attack from the ship's weapon systems
