Over the years, there have been numerous special event only Pokémon such as Mew, Celebi, and Arceus. However, from Pokémon X & Pokémon Y, several moves started coming out which were only available through Pokémon in events. These moves can be obtained via Metronome, and can be Sketched by Smeargle, but aside from that, they cannot be obtained via level up through normal play.

As Pokémon X & Y have implemented a new form of Move Rememberence, if you make the Pokémon forget the move, it can relearn it at a later date.
