Black City & White Forest
Like in Pokémon Black & White, Pokémon Black 2 & White 2 have got their own areas. However, these areas have rapidly changed through time and have slightly less differences than seen before.
Instead of Black City having trainers and White City having wild Pokémon, the areas both have got a special battling facility within them. These Battle Facilities are rather similar, with the same end goal, but have some changes within.
Black Tower & White Treehollow
Black City holds the Black Tower while White Treehollow. Here, you have to battle through 10 areas to get to the leader of the Black Tower. This is done by fighting through scores of trainers on each floor until the end opens up for the final boss. These are based on certain conditions given to you as you enter the area. These include finding the gatekeeper, with the trainers you defeat giving you clues based on who the gatekeeper is. Each of the trainers is completely random, selecting multiple Pokémon at random. The areas also change with each entry. Click here for trainer listings
Unlike other battle facilities, levels for the opponents are not set, and increase as you progress through the area until you hit Area 10. In addition to that, there are no restrictions as to what Pokémon you can use so you can go straight in with Level 100 legendaries in order to clear house quickly. However, you can also gain experience from the Pokémon you defeat within this area
A new feature added within Black 2 & White 2 is the ability to switch between the different areas. To do this, you need to gain the special keys from a friend with the other game. Earning these keys are relatively simple. Once you have beaten Area 5 of the Black Tower or White Treehollow, you will be congratulated and given the key to Black City or White Forest. There, you can send it over to other games using the Unova Link feature.
Whenever you finish an area, you will receive a reward for defeating it. This reward is selected at random from a list of possible items and can be reobtained at will.
