First Appearence In Episode: The Mighty Accelguard to the Rescue

Biography

Clay is the Gym Leader of Driftveil City. Despite being a gym leader, he often refuses battles, having refused a battle with Ash on two occassions for various reasons: Having to examine a new mine he manages and not having any Revival Herbs. He told Ash he wasn't worth battling since Ash didn't know what Revival Herbs were and promised he'd battle him if Ash got him some. Despite his brazenness, Clay is a compassionate man and is known all around the city.
