Pokémon Diamond & Pearl have the highest amount of Pokémon in any game between them. With 445 Pokémon obtainable in one way or another without backwards trading (425 per game), there are still 48 Pokémon that are not available in the games, several of which are actually vital to obtaining a new Pokémon.

The way you get these Pokémon are by transferring them or one of their evo chain to Diamond & Pearl using Pal Park and capturing them in there, Breeding if necessary to get the lower forms.

These are the only Pokémon that you need to transfer using this method in order to complete the National Dex. All others are obtainable in the game.
