Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO event. This is the Psychic Spectacular and runs from October 5th in the west/early morning October 6th in Japan. This event will likely feature increased Psychic-type spawns. At present, details are scarce but we are currently investigating and will add more details as they come.
Edit @ 21:20: Niantic have since removed all signs of this from the social media. As the official release hadn't come out, it appears this was an early post. We expect details soon
Edit @ 21:38: This event has increased Psychic-type spawns including Ralts, Abra & Baltoy, unique Field Research for Psychic-type Pokémon and Shiny Drowzee will start to appear. It runs until from October 5th at 20:00 UTC to October 14th at 20:00 UTC

Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Reshiram & Zekrom Event
For those of you in Europe and Oceania, the ninyh month of the Legendary Pokémon Year events have begun. From now until October 21st 2018, players will be able to get a Zekrom in Pokémon Sun and Ultra Sun or Reshiram in Pokémon Moon and Ultra Moon simply by going through Mystery Gift > Get Via Internet. These distributions differ between Sun & Moon and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon with the Pokémon being Level 60 in Sun & Moon and Level 100 holding a Gold Bottle Cap in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. This event will be distributed in North America through Target from October 19th as a Serial Code event

Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go, Eevee!
It has been confirmed that Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go, Eevee! are to be playable in Madrid Games Week on October 18th through to October 21st, being held in the Feria de Madrid in Madrid, Spain. This is the first time the game will be playable by the public in Spain. Once again this is the same demo that is going around the world right now, taking place in Viridian Forest

This weekend, from today until Sunday, is New York Comic Con and to celebrate, the Unown Letters of N, Y, C, O, M & I are spawning to spell NY Comic Con. They are spawning throughout New York City. There is also a special PokéStop at the event for the event's duration. We have updated our Unown Event section to contain this event
