Aipom

Aipom, The Long Tail Pokémon. It's tail is so powerful that it can use it to grab a tree branch and hold itself up in the air. It lives atop tall trees. When leaping from branch to branch, it uses it's tail for balance. It's tail ends in a hand like appendage that can be cleverly manipulated, however since it uses it's tail so much, it's actual hands have become clumsy

Battle Moveset

A Good Moveset for Aipom would have to be this:

Attacks:

Attract
Thunder Wave
Return
Substitute

Items Attached:

Quick Claw

Preferred Nature:

Impish

Strategy Using Aipom

Aipom isn't the most stat worthy pokemon in the game, which is a shame really, if only it learnt a few more stat increasing moves such as calm mind/bulk up just to make use of baton pass.
If Aipom is holding quick claw, it will have a good chance of getting the first attack in. Attract and Thunderwave should be the first move to consider using.
Attract and Thunderwave will either trigger a switch, or your opponent will keep his pokemon in battle, which would be rather foolish if he wanted his pokemon to eventually get defeated by a volley of Returns (except if its a ghost time, if it is a ghost type, you're basically screwed unless you switch out)
Substitute prolongues the battle, and also allows you to use more of the annoyer moves, to hopefully cause more switching. However, Substitute could be replaced with a move such as baton pass, you may not be baton passing any stat boosts to a pokemon, but it can be used to get out of a sticky situation, say, against a ghost type for example.
Poor Aipom, he's been given some poor stats, but yes, he can be used and is probably quite underused. The only real use it could have as a baton passer is passing Agility onto a slow pokemon, it would make a nice baton pass of speed to a pokemon such as Octillery.

EV Corner:

Max out the EVs in Defense for Aipom with any remaining in Speed & Special Defense

Strategy Against Aipom

Aipom' Defenses are below average & equal so a Fighting Volley would be best here

Contest Moveset

A good Contest Moveset for Aipom would have to be this for the Cute Contest best with Timid, Hasty, Jolly or Naive Nature:

Attacks:

Tickle
Baton Pass
ThunderWave
Body Slam

Items Attached:

Pink Scarf

Strategy Using Aipom

If you do the attacks in this following order you should have very few problems; 1st - Thunderwave, 2nd - Tickle, 3rd - Baton pass, 4th - Body slam, 5th - Tickle

Animé Appearences

Aipom has had a few Animé Appearences. First Lisa had one in her battle against Ash. After that a group of them took Ash's Masterball Volleyball when it went missing after a game. After that it's tears were used tomake a spell that turned Ash into a Pokémon. The Rest are Cameos
