Paper Mario is a new stage that takes place within three different areas from the Paper Mario franchise. These rotate through sequentially as the battle progresses.

The first stop is one based upon the recent 3DS title Paper Mario Sticker Star and features a small green plain with a windmill. Knock out comes from left, up, right and down. After a short time on the stage, a fan will appear and start blowing from the left to the right, causing recovery to be hindered. This sometimes knocks the pipe out of the stage.

After that part of the stage ends, you move to the boat, the S.S. Flavion from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year door. This boat has got various levels upon which you can fight, but has a few gimmicks. First, a whale may come up underneath the stage, causing the boat to shift up and start rocking. After that, a giant Blooper will appear and start creating massive waves that will shock the boat.

The final part of the stage is based upon Bowser's Sky Castle from Paper Mario: Sticker Star and is set upon two platforms that move vertically, as well as the entrance to the castle. At times, the castle entrance will begin rotating.
