At the Pokémon World Championships last week, we were invited to participate in a special Roundtable with the Development Director & Game Producer of Pokémon Champions, Masaaki Hoshino where a group of us could ask him questions about the development and future of the game including discussions on Single Player and additional game modes

Pokémon GO
The next Pokémon GO event has been announced. This is the Harvest Festival event and is due to run September 29th at 10:00 to October 5th at 20:00 local time and adds Shiny Applin into the game
This event gives increased chance of Shiny Smoliv
Tier 1 of the GO Pass gives Applin a higher chance of holding Apples when caught
Tier 2 at Rank 10 gives Mossy Lure Modules a 1 hour long duration
Tier 3 gives more Stardust from defeating Team GO Rocket Grunts
During the event, Mossy Lure Modules will only spawn apples, giving apple items or encounters with Applin, Cottonee in a flower crown and more
Skwovet, Lechonk, Smoliv and Applin will be in the wild
There will be branched Timed Research allowing you to select between Tart Apples, Sweet Apples and Syrupy Apples as rewards

The next Pokémon GO event has been announced. This is the Harvest Festival: Taken Over event and is due to run October 2nd at 00:00 to October 5th at 20:00 local time and adds Shiny Shroodle into the game
This event gives increased chance of Shiny Slugma
There will be increased Team GO Rocket appearance
Koffing, Slugma, Numel and Magmar will spawn in the wild
Giovanni will have Shadow Zekrom when encounters from this event
Shadow Wimpod, Fomantis and Sandygast will be added to the game

The next Pokémon GO event is rolling out in Asia Pacific regions. This event is the Mega Squads Event event which runs from 10:00 local time on September 8th through 20:00 local time on September 14th. It features a focus on Maschiff. It also features a special GO Pass

The Pokémon GO Pass: September has started rolling out.. This will run from September 8th at 10:00 local time through October 6th 2026. As before, a free track is available for all players who gain access, or you can purchase to get even more rewards
The Pass will include encounters with Pokémon like Latios, as well as Stardust, Candy, Poké Balls, and if you purchase then you'll get more Rewards and a Timed Incubator.

Following its return in GO Fest 2026 Mega Finale this weekend, it has been confirmed that Armored Mewtwo will return to Pokémon GO again later this year during a Raid Day event. Currently the date and details have not been revealed but we'll provide the full details as they come

Pokémon Sleep
It has been confirmed that Pokémon Sleep is to undergo maintenance on September 9th at 04:30 UTC through 09:00 UTC. With this, the version 3.8.0 update will be released which prepares for the coming Mewtwo event
With this, some changes will be made. First, Pokémon will have the chance of becoming full slightly reduced
The General Store will increase its lineup of Ultra Biscuits to 5 and you can run up to 3 Incenses simultaneously

Pokémon Masters EX - Story Event
The "Roll Cake Challenge" Event has begun a run in Pokémon Masters EX. This event features a Daily Battle to complete missions to earn rewards culminating in Roll Cakes. It runs until September 30th 2026.

Pokémon Masters EX - Story Event
The Pokémon Masters EX Pasio Towers has received an Expansion, increasing the floors in each type to 40. With this comes harder battles and more rewards. Alongside this, new scouts are available to try and get strong Sync Pairs to help with each type
