Dr. Laurent was the lead scientist at the PCL looking after Mewtwo after Harry Goodman brought it in. She continued her study of Mewtwo and extracted its genes to create the chemical R.
Her current status is unknown as she was in the viscinitiy of Mewtwo's chamber when it exploded and Mewtwo broke out
