After you reach the Rocky Ridge, you will follow a questline that helps you rescue Chef Dente from a barrel. Once done, they will teach you how to use the various ingredients in order to cook meals using ingredients and Pokémon helpers. These meals will then boost up the strength of your moves.

However, there's more to it than the simple meals. With different ingredients, and sometimes different Pokémon specialities as your Helper Pokémon, you can craft ones with different tastes. These can then be given to Pokémon in order to help boost their Comfort Level at a higher rate than giving them simple berries.
