Plus Moves |
Plus Moves are a brand new mechanic for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This allows for you to change the tide of battle with a boost to the move. These Plus Moves basically add an additional bit of power or effect to your move. This varies by move with attacking moves doing more damage by 25% and status moves having their duration increased or effect increased. Super effective moves will even deal more damage than before. Doing so will deplete your Mega Gauge by one segment. When a Pokémon uses Protect or Detect against a Plus Move, they will not be able to protect from all the damage inflicted. When a Pokémon Mega Evolves, all of its moves become Plus Moves and have an additional bonus damage added. |

Mastering Plus Moves |
There are two ways to get your Pokémon's moves to be Plus Moves. The first is to simply level the Pokémon up. All moves in a Pokémon's level up learnset will be Mastered as they level up, typically between 5 and 10 levels after learning the move. Alpha Pokémon also come with their moves capable of being Plus Moves from the outset. Alternatively, and the only way to make TM learned moves become Plus Moves, you can take a Seed of Mastery to Josée in the Justice Dojo. She will then teach your Pokémon how to master their Plus Move. |
