Existing Forms

As the Pokémon games have progressed, many Pokémon have gained forms and in doing so, they need you to get a special item or go to a special location in order to be able to change the form which has changed from previous games. These list features that have changed from the usual form change. Any other form changes through items are done through items obtained from the Auctions in Porto Marinada

Rotom

Rotom's forms make a return once again, and once again you can do it through the Rotom Catalog. To get the Rotom Catalog, you need to have a Rotom in your party or boxes. Then go to Porto Marianda and a special auction will be held to purchase the Rotom Catalog

If Deerling or Sawsbuck are in your party when you boot your game up, their form will change to match the location you currently are in.

If they remain in your box, they will not change form. They will also not change form when removed from the Box into your party. It only changes when you boot the game up

Dialga, Palkia & Giratina

Having had forms introduced in Pokémon Legends Arceus, when you have transferred Dialga, Palkia or Giratina over to the game, you will be able to get the special item that changes their form. Unlike in Pokémon Legends Arceus, these items are hold items and need to be held by the Pokémon in order for it to change form.
Giratina also features a new change in this game where the Griseous Orb will no longer change its form when held. Instead, the Griseous Core will change the form while Griseous Orb just gives the boost to Altered Forme Giratina

Shaymin

As with all other forms, Shaymin's item to change the form, the Gracidea, can be found in the Auction House in Porto Marinada. The Gracidea works similar to before in that it can change Shaymin's form between the two. However, if Shaymin is frozen or it is currently night in whichever region you're in then you can't use it.

Like with recent games, it won't revert when you put it into the box
