Gimmighoul's Coins

Gimmighoul's Roaming Form isn't available natively in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Instead, you will see it throughout all of your adventures. It will typically sit on top of large rocks, on signs and on top of ruins. If you interact with them, you will get a number of Gimmighoul Coins. This number is usually low such as 1 or 2 but if you're lucky can be as high as 200. They all have a specific value for their first interaction with you being 1 to 5..

Each Gimmighoul has got a 50% chance of respawning each day.

Gimmighoul's Chest Form is the form you can battle and catch. It is found in the ruins of Paldea, as well as on top of most Watch Towers and on some secluded islands in the Paldean Sea. These range in Level from Level 5 up to Level 60. When you defeat them, you will obtain 50 or 60 Gimmighoul Coins as the standard, but it could be as high as 777 if you're lucky.

Each day, each Gimmighoul Chest Form has a 5% chance of respawning.

While most of the materials are used for crafting TMs, the Gimmighoul Coins are used for a different reason; they're used in the evolution of Gimmighoul. If you have collected 999 Gimmighoul coins in your travels, level up Gimmighoul and you'll be able to evolve it into Gholdengo.

This is the only way to get Gholdengo in the game, and it can be done as many times you desire.

In Medali, there is also a man who will talk about coins. If you have reached 999 Coins and continue to get some, he will start collecting them and when you're back under 999 coins, if you talk to him he will give you all the coins collected that were over the 999 Coin limit
